OS: Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
Version: 5.0.2195 Service Pack 4 Build 2195
RAM: 982.512KB

My system seems to be slowing down.
I have 3 hard drives and 2 USB extenal drives running.

Just recently I have been getting
a popup window noting:
"Your system is running low on virtual memory.
Windows is increasing the size of your virtual
memory paging file.
During this process, memory requests for some
applications may be denied."

In Performance Options/Applications...

My paging file is on C:
Initial size (MB): 1440
Maximum size (MB): 2880

Should I change this?
If so... to what?

Any help or advice appreciated.

That ram figure doesn't appear correct.
You should allow win to handle pageing file size, usually its 2.5 X Ram

Your pwr supply is upto the demand?
How much free space on C & what is the size of C?

Thanks DL
The ram figure is what Windows shows
Size of C is 10GB with 6.27 free space.

I restored a ghost image of C drive saved
4 days ago and things seem to be ok now.
Perhaps I messed something up?

You seem to have a particularly lean installation of win
If your ram is 982mb & win handles the swap file this would be 2455mb
The figures given dont add up

But anyway the restore appears to have worked
