Hi,
I am running Vista on my second hard drive and have no problems with it
other than the fact that the computer seems to be running much hotter.
Anyone else experiencing this? Is there anything running in Vista that can
cause this that I can perhaps disable? Thanks for any comments.

Yes its hot..
On xp there was no high fan sound on freehand and/or photoshop..
The fan speed was increasing just when i was working on 3d..
Now its high even in freehand..I think that means core is hot..

If you put CPUmeter at the sidebar you'll see that when you move the
window left to right fast and repeat it several times, cpu workload hits
100%
and stays there for a second..

It must be the Aero..But as far as i know, Aero was using GPU..not Cpu..

Sum of the subject
Cpu is hotter...

This could be caused by Windows indexing your hard drive or another
background process doing work. Check your Task Manager (right click on the
taskbar and click "Task Manager", and in the Task Manager window click on
the "Processes" tab, click on the button that says "Show processes from all
users", when prompted for consent click on Continue, and then sort the task
list by CPU usage).

depends on the POWER SCHEME you are using.
might give POWER SAVING mode a try and see if it helps.

also take a look at Task Manager to see if you are bing pegged out by some program. ndexing is usually a problem right after installing.

Check with the mobo or cpu manufacturer for a Vista version of Cool and
Quiet type drivers.
