Running Hot...

I think. I just built a new computer, Asus A8n Sli Premium, Athlon 64
3200, and three gigs of memory. According to the monitoring by the mb,
which I believe accurate, the temperature of the computer runs from 29
to 33c (about 80 to 90 something F.) with almost nothing going.

Is this normal?

Thanks in advance.

Oh heck...that's not even close to being hot...
check the AMD website for the exact specs.

Like your bedside manner; hope you're right, and thanks for the
suggestion.

Wow. Hi Philo, and best thanks again. Could I slip in another question,
please. What do you think of Quick and Cool. I enabled it in the bios.
Off is the default setting. Larry

Well I built an AMD-64 X2 machine a few months back for my girl friend
and I believe it had the Quick and Cool option...
but I never enabled it yet...so i cannot make any judgments...
I was going to enable it this summer and see how it worked...

I'm jittery about the fan because the first Asus mb came with a faulty
cpu fan port; I used a chasis port until I got the next board which is
ok. My first experience with Quick and Cool was that it was flaky, but I
now think that maybe that was me. Anyway, I'm using it now and it seems
useful, even though the temperature is running marginally higher. But as
I discovered, thanks to you, what the heck :-)
