What I am looking to accomplish is to insert "continued
text" at the top of every page such as "Risk Factors
(continued)" or "Management Discussion and Analysis
(continued)", etc. The main headings may or may not start
a new section but may start in the middle of a page.

RISK FACTORS (level one heading)

Some text

<new page>
Risk Factors (cont.)

MANAGEMENT DISCUSSION AND ANAYSIS (level one heading)

Some text

<new page>
Management Discussion and Analysis (continued)

I have found that if I use a text box positioned at the
top of every page that sometimes the text box causes text
on the preceeding page to bump down to the next page.

I will be using the "StyleRef" field to pick up the text
of the first style it finds in the proceeding page which
may or may not change based on the reflowing of the text.

Sincerely,

Mark Baird

No you can not because the STYLEREF field will only look
at the first page of the document.

Mark, you've missed something somewhere. StyleRefs check the current page
and work backwards. They work exactly in the way you want your headers to
work here. Check help for "Print dictionary-style page headers" - you can
use StyleRef fields to reference the first (or last) usage of a given style
on each page. Single header, different content each page.
