Running dual mice on XP

I am about to purchase a special ergonomic mouse for use at my work computer.
The mouse is very awkward and would be difficult to use for the general user
that's unfamiliar with it. I'd like to be able to set my XP computer up to
operate simultaneously with its "standard" USB mouse and also my new wireless
USB ergonomic mouse. This way, I can use my ergonomic mouse but when another
user sets at my computer, the standard mouse will function properly for the
other person. Is this possible to do with XP? If so, how?

Should be no problem, plug in both mice and see what happens. The only
problem you may run into is if one of the mice has special features
instituted by a program installation that the other doesn't have.

I have run a computer with PS2 standard mouse, USB infrared/wireless mouse
and a USB trackball with no problems.

I've done this, too. Plug in the second mouse and it'll just work. The
'plain' mouse should be hung by its tail somewhere to prevent it from moving
on its own, which will make you crazy if you don't know it is happening.

I did it on 98 once by simply plugging in an additional USB mouse. No
configuration of any kind. I simply couldn't stand her left-handed
mouse.
