Vanessa

a teacher wants to create a cd with access databases on
it and give to students to use to do certain things and
then turn the cd back in for grading.

she wants the students to be able to open the database
from the cd and work from the cd. She does not want the
students to have to copy the database to a hard drive and
then back to the cd...is this possible?

thanks in advance!

:)

CD by its nature is "Read-Only" so students cannot "work" (I assume you
meant creating / designing Access objects or modifying data) from the CD
without copying to the hard-disk.

Ask the teacher whether she knows what she is teaching ...

Hi Vanessa,

I'm no expert, but ...

1.) The database would be read-only ... so how could the students do
anything on it which could be returned for grading?
2.) If they did copy the database to hard-drive, removed the read-only
attribute, and worked on it ... how would they copy it back to the CD? Do
they all have CD Writers?
