Do I need to run the Antispyware programs every time after booting the
computer? Or is it possible to run it automatically when the computer is
booted. Please advise. Thanks.

Use the scheduled task utility in Windows [Control Panel] to set specific
times when you want the program to run scans.

If you have not disabled the active agents, it should be running
automatically. If you do ctrl-alt-delete and look at the list of running
processes, do you see any starting with gc?

If this isn't in fact working on your system, I would recommend logging in
as administrator, and going to control panel, add or remove programs,
microsoft antispyware, change, update, and re-testing.
