Running Ad-Watch and MS Antispyware's Real-time protection concurr

I have been a long time user of Lavasoft's Ad-Watch. recently decided to turn
on the Real-time protection agents of MS Antispyware to see what kinds of
things they do. It appears to me that there is at least SOME overlap between
Ad-Watch and MS Antispyware. For example, if a program makes a change to the
Run key in my registry, both programs ask me if I want to allow the change.

My question is:
Is there any downside to running both Ad-Watch and the Real-time protection
in MS Antispyware? Does it waste a lot of CPU cycles? Might they actually
conflict with each other?

Lavasoft's Ad-Watch offers "similar" real-time protection and yes, there is an
overlap. Under Win 9x many complained of excessive CPU use.
Under Win XP, it may be negligible, but not run concurrently with MSAS.

Since plug-in is fully supported by Lavasoft, you should contact them for their
support.
