Hi All,

I have 2 applications the first is running on MsAccess 97 and the second on
MsAccess XP and both of them running on Windows 2003 server using terminal
services so multy user can run the applications from the server using remote
desktop from windows XP.

The problem is that when ever an administrator runs Access XP the other
users can not start running Access 97, but if the administrator reruns
Access 97 again they can run it with no problems.

I do not want to give all the users an administrator privileges

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Wael

Why don't you just convert the 97 app to the 2000 or 2002 file format and
then use Access 2002 for both of them? Other than development boxes it
is seldom a good idea to have more than one Access version on a machine.

Hi Rick,
The Problem is that the 97 application is an mde file and I can not convert
to 2003.

Best Regards

Hi Rick,
The Problem is that the 97 application is an mde file and I can not
convert to 2003.

Was the app developed in-house? If so the original MDB should exist
somewhere.

Otherwise you need to use shortcuts that explicitly point to the version
of Access to use, not simply at the files.

"path to MSAccess.exe" "path to file to open"
