running a show

When trying to run a slide show, I open the doc. then
select the RUN SHOW option (Screen at bottom, or via
menus). A bottom tab 'shows' option is running but the re
is no slide show running.
The file was created in PP Office XP. The only change has
been upgrading WIN 98 to XP.
HELP!
 
The presentation is probably set to run on a second display, one that's
"virtually" there and supported under XP, but not physically hooked up. In
other words, if you plugged in an external monitor or data projector, the
show would probably appear there.

Try Slide Show, Set Up Show and check the settings there.
