In Windows XP how can I send a command to another computer to run a program?

The two computers are on a networked running windows.
Someone wants to be able to have an application on the first computer
where they start a process on the second computer.

As far as I know, Windows itself does not provide this feature. You
need some third-party software like PC Anywhere.

If the computer your wanting to send the command to is a Windows XP
Professional computer you can use remote desktop to do what you want.
