i also have the problem with my runescape I think the cause of it was a
worm that was being transmitted all around AIM because once i got it my
runescape has been pausing around every 30 seconds and resuming its
play it really gets annoying is there anyway to get it to fix itself, I
got rid of the worm but the problem still stayed. this also happens
with any games that work with java.

Hi colombian_rocker,

Run a virus scan at: http://housecall.antivirus.com and then
install MS AntiSpyware from: www.microsoft.com/spyware to
remove any Spyware or Adware which could clog up your PC.

Dear jimmy I have done what you sent me to do and happily my problem
was fixed but for a day and it has regenerated itself and now i have
the same symptoms of the previous time it was working perfectly until
9:00 PM i have no idea what to do I am ready to hit the computer with a
sledgehammer.

Hi colombian_rocker,

Run the Antivirus and Antispyware scans again.
If they detect malware again, and it's the same as before, then
either you've introduced them yourself again since the last time
you cleaned your system, or the malware need to be manually
removed using HiJackThis! and the help of the folks at the
BleepingComputer.com or TomCoyote forums.

I have completed the antivirus and malware scan but it did not show me
any grayware virus or anything else it just asked me to delete my
cookies and showed me my vulnerabalities and I just checked and my
runescape problem is still active.

Hi colombian_rocker,

Your best solution would be to repair Windows using these instructions:

How to repair Windows XP:
Unplug from your Internet connection, and then repair Windows:
using this method: http://michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

Afterwards, boot up your system, turn on your XP Internet Firewall,
plug back into your Internet connection and install all Critical and

You would be much better off posting the Runescape problem in the Runescape
forums. Check the Technical Support forum, there are people there that post
about the "stop, start, stop, start bug"
