Hi

I have a problem with my rundll32.exe file. When I try to
change my desktop settings or appearance I get a message
telling me that the system can't find the rundll.exe
file. I have checked and the file is in the
windows\system32 folder. I have also followed the
Microsoft Knowledge Base article on the subject and
expanded the file from the Windows XP CD which should I
assume reinstall the file. The problem persists. Can
anyone help with this?

Try checking for spyware. It's a common underlying cause for rundll32
errors. A quick online check for adware, spyware, hijackers and other
nasties:

There are links on that page leading to doxdesk.com, a site well-known for
accurately documenting various parasites. Another good resource site for
info on parasites: http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/
