rundll32.exe Control Panel error

While running a system scan with the Antispyware Beta,
screensaver tried to start without success, then I lost
all desktop icons. Since rebooting after that occured I
have been unable to access Control Panel icons. Error
c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe "The handle is invalid"
for all control panel icons. I tried the fix in article
812340 which addresses a similar problem. However, I
could not get the EXPAND command to expand rundll32.ex_.
I did, however, get my original desktop icons back after
rebooting. Gail Wilson
 
I am curious what screensaver you used. Since otherwise I am unsure how MS
AS 1.0 Beta would cause a problem with rundll32.ese.
