It seems like this comes up whenever you open Explorer

Box with a red X and the title RUNDLL
An exception occured while trying to run "C:\WINDOWS\system32\btiein.dll,download"
only option is to click on ok

I ran a search on my drive and found a file named this with the .dll extension but nothing with a ,download behind it. What is this code? What can be done to keep this from popping up over and over again. It wold appear once you hit ok, it runs fine.
Thanks for any help

Here is a reply to an inquiry that I made with Compaq support. It fixed my problem. Hope that it works for you as well.

Dear Frank,

I see that while running Internet Explorer, you keep getting a pop-up
message that says "An exception occured while trying to run
"C:\WINDOWS\System32\btiein.dll,Download".

The BTIEIN.DLL file is a component of a spyware program known as the
Huntbar.

To remove the spyware, you can download the file from the following URL:

http://mvps.org/sramesh2k/utils/hbkill.exe

Similarly, you can find out the instructions to manually remove the same
by visting the following URL:

http://doxdesk.com/parasite/HuntBar.html

Further, I recommend you scan the system for parasites and then remove
them. SpyBot S&D searches your harddisk for Spyware and Adware.
