I start up WIndows XP, and a program called "infoweb.exe" starts up and
begins to eat up all my memory. If I do not stop process within a few
seconds, it restarts itself and I cannot make it stop. I cannot find the
source program, but do find in Prefetch directory: infoweb.exe-32A21FB.pf
(64K) McAfee and Ad-Aware come up clean.

Any help?

Please define the following information.

What version of Adaware and what is the definition version ?

What version of McAfee software and...
What is the ENGINE version ?
What is the DAT revision ?

Do a search in Windows for "infoweb.exe". Make sure that "Search Hidden
Files" is shown in search preferences. You can also try running MSConfig to
stop infoweb from running at startup.

Start>Run>msconfig
Click the "Startup" tab, and if you see it there, uncheck it. Then go over
to the "Services" tab,a nd if it's there, also, uncheck it. This Should stop
it from running at startup.
