runas causes application freeze

Hi all,

Recently we've upgraded our XP pro workstations to SP2 and added them to a
new domain. Users are restricted in using programs such as the registry, mmc,
internet settings etc.

For our servicedesk the runas function is available so that the servicedesk
can run certain utils with admin credentials. Normally this would work but
when they try to use the runas function the application pops up and freezes.
So, you see the application screen but it's frozen. The only thing they can
do is stop the application.

I hope there is someone who has seen this problem before and has a solution.
Thanks in advance !!

It sounds like you've got some policy in place that is preventing the
runas function from working properly. Review your Group Policy
settings. Here is the Group Policy newsgroup for more specific help:

microsoft.public.windows.group_policy

Thanks for the reply. I was just reviewing the group policy as I saw your
answer.
I think it is a grouppolicy also.
