If your are able to achieve this, what were you going to do with your system
after Windows is loaded and you turn off the hard drive? Are you going to
run any applications?

yes, but only one and this application dont need the hard-drive (i think)
she need need the harddrive just for the launching of course !

I would think you will want (need) all 4 GB of RAM that is
supported, and you can Google to find RAM-DRIVE software,
which will load the OS to the RAM and allow it to function
as a drive. You can load the OS and applications in this
RAM-DRIVE.

You could even use a card reader or thumb drive to load
programs, saw a 1.5 GB thumb drive advertised last Sunday.

You can set the power options to power the hard drive down
after a few minutes. The issue is having the drive not
start again. Not sure if that is easy to do.

Once the system is running, you could have a hard-wired
power switch to the hard drive.

A possible solution you might be interested in is Embedded Windows. It is
usually used for things like POS terminals and other systems like that. You
can read about it here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/embedded/xp/default.aspx

You would need a harddrive still but it would only be needed to boot if you
planned on turning your system on and off.
