I have a P4 3.2 with 2GB of RAM. 250 GB HD. I have about 120,000 files on
this drive. It took WD 2.23 minutes to scan my system (nothing else running)
then it started all over again. I had to cancel.

Does anyone know what WD means when it is counting up objects? When WD
restarted I had over 1 million objects?

Any help or explanation would be appreciated.
 
I've observed that it counts individual files within archives--that would
account for these large numbers, I believe. Most systems have a large
number of archives of various sorts--many that you may be unaware of, for
example, because they are .exe files.
