Hi there, I'm looking for advice on 'run time error' and 'do you wish to
debug' boxes that keep appearing on random internet pages. I posted a
question on the 'general' forum about this happening on one site only and was
told that is was probably caused by the website owner modifying the script -
sure enough, it hasn't happened on that specific website since - but now it's
happening on other sites. Should I be worried? Thanks, chrissyd.

Latest error message says...

A Runtime Error has occurred.
Do you wish to debug?
Line:1869
Error: object expected

IE\Properties\Advanced and put a checkmark to Disable Script Debugging and then take out checkmark from Display notification about every script error

Hi Peter, thanks for this. I checked this out but setting are already as you
suggest. Any other ideas? Thanks, chrissyd.

Hi nass, thanks for the advice.

I tried most of this - some of the tab names and sequences differ on my PC -
and the only thing that I had to change was unchecking 'automatically detect
settings' in the 'LAN settings' button.

I struggled with the 'Disable add ons' bit - not quite sure what you mean by
'none/not verified' as my PC doesn't have this classification in 'Manage add
ons'.

I ran Nortons from here and then rebooted. Didn't reset IE7 because I don't
use this brower.

Anyway, the issue is still there. Any other suggestions? Thanks, chrissyd.

Hi Peter, just spotted 'Disable script debugging (other)' - should I try
checking this? Cheers, chrissyd.

Hi nass, following my previous reply, I've opened IE7 and found 'Reset
internet explorer' in the 'Advance' tab of 'Internet options' - it says it
deletes all temp files, disables browser add ons, and resets all the changed
settings and that I should only do this if the browser is in an unusable
state. Is the one you meant? Would this also disable the browser add ons as
you suggested? Cheers, chrissyd.

Hi Peter, ignore last two postings - I unchecked 'disable script debugging
(other)' and I'm not getting the error messages any more. What have I
actually done here - and am I just hiding error info that I should be aware
of? Thanks, chrissyd.

Hi nass, I've unchecked 'disable script debugging (other)' in the 'Advanced'
tab of Internet options and it seems to have stopped the error messages (see
posts to Peter). Should I go back and check 'Automatically detect settings' -
and still reset IE7? Thanks again, chrissyd.

I meant 'checked' - I'm not having a good day, here. Apols for endless

Hi nass, can't get these downloads - says there's an error. If I could
download them, what would they fix - seeing as I'm not getting any line
errors any more? Thanks, chrissyd.

The Java download said 'error - unable to complete download' - and then
referred me to another link on their website - which I didn't follow -
because I'm always reluctant to download software.

I've checked the Java directory in the control panel and it checks for
updates automatically every month - last time was 18th - so I should be up to
date..?? I'm on 1.4.2_01.

What do you think a further Java download would do?

Thanks, chrissyd.
