MY Internet Explorer suddenly developed a run-time error and cannot start at
all. I cannot repair/re-install/un-install/upgrade the program
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Program\Internet Explorer\iexplorer.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual
way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Already have Service Pack 2 for XP. Cannot uninstall it either.
Cannot uninstall IE6 for through CLeansweep for it is protected
Cannot uninstall it through OS (add/remove program) for it is related to XP
service pack 2.
Microsoft US will not do anything (Sweden juristiction)
Microsoft Sweden wants money before they do anything

Apart from destroying the registry.......any suggestions???

Runtime Library Microsoft Visual C++, Runtime Error Program
C:\Windows\Explorer.exe or Iexplore.exe, abnormal program termination.
http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/CommonName.html
or
http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default5.asp?VName=TROJ_AGENT.BK
also make sure you don't have both the Sun JRE and the Microsoft VM JIT
compiler enabled.
If none of that helps, try uninstalling the Google toolbar.

I have a problem identical to yours...in all respects. Please, please, post
any fix.

Runtime error Microsoft Visual C Runtime Library Program files\internet
explorer\iexplore,exe
Mine occurred shortly after I downloaded a 'critical update' for something
like Office XP Service Pack 3 Office 2002/XP
I can't even find the update in the add/remove panel.

For the first time I know why I have downloaded more than one browser. I am
mistified that the others work.

Hi,
There are other possibilities (see the message from Frank Saunders) but this
error has been caused recently by the Google toolbar. Uninstall it from
Control Panel> Add/remove programs. You could try reinstalling it now, or
wait for a new version which won't cause this problem.

I had Google version 2 something on my laptop version 3.0.125 on home PC no
problem on home PC upgraded laptop to Google Toolbar version 3.0.126 Browser
worked fine. Seems Google is the problem. So upgrade the toolbar then
reinstall the updates from Windows.
Thanks again Frank. I posted this on another post with the same question.
