I have a Win 2000 computer that was hacked into. (They
used the loop hole that exists when the latest Microsoft
security patch is not installed.) Virus definitions were
up to date at all times.

Anyway, I have removed and found everything the hacker
installed, except one. When I uninstalled the MIRC
software they installed, I now get a message at start up:
Sex Run-time error 53. File not found.

I can't figure out what is trying to run and from where,
in order to get that message. Can anyone help?

....there's no msconfig in Windows 2000, but if you copy the msconfig.exe
from a Windows XP machine to W2k's c:\winnt\system32 it will work.

SpyBot Search and Destroy also has a tool to display startup programs and it
allows you to selectivley disable. It also has a process tracker and host
file viewer in advanced mode/tools. --- Steve
