I have a Win2000 domain with XP Pro clients and because of
a security program - appsense - need to run scripts before
explorer as appsense will not permit the programs to run
once the user has logged on.

The settings are all configured in the Win2000 active
directory policy for the users but are inneffective on XP
clients which respond only, it seems, to 2003 Server(which
we would be ill advised to install at this point in time)

Please can you help

I spoke with MS Tech support who suggested setting the
machine policy as this would have from bootup to apply the
policy and therefore be effective before the user logged
on. Unfortunately this didn't work as my scripts didn't
then run at all!

I also asked about adding XP(2003)Server ADM's into a
Win2K group policy. They said it would be fine to do so.
They also said that the registry settings in both Win2k
and XP were in the majority similar. I must say that so
far I haven't seen this to be the case.

I continue to struggle to allow many programs access
through the security software.
