Hi everybody,

I have a question concerning scheduled tasks and hibernation (Win xp).
I know that one can schedule tasks to run after system start-up or
user logon. However, I wonder whether there is a possibility to let a
task automatically run when the system was manually started from
hibernation mode. This means, I do not want to wake it up
automatically at a given time. Instead, I am looking for a solution
similar to the available option 'run task after system start-up' (that
only works if the computer has been completely turned off).

Can anybody of you help.

I'm not aware of a function that will detect a return from hibernation.
However, you could solve the problem in a generalised way: Use
the Task Scheduler to update a "heartbeat monitor" file once every
five minutes, and check the date stamp of this file just before you update
it. If more than five minutes have elapsed since the last update then
your system was off the air for one reason or another.

Shutter.exe will do this I think.

Hi, thanks for all your replies. Hibernate trigger seems to be the
easiest solution I think.
