Run powerpoint macro in excel

Hello excel wizards!

I'm trying to make a macro in excel that opens a pre-existing powerpoint file, runs the macro in that file, then closes the powerpoint file when it is done.

I've searched far and wide for this solution and I can't seem to quite get it.

Can anyone help me?

I've tried using add-ins in powerpoint but I don't really know how to use them. Can someone help me?
