I recently upgraded to Outlook 2003 to take advantage of its new junk e-mail filter (among other things). However, I do not know how to run the junk e-mail filter on messages that I have already received. How do I do it? There does not seem to be an option to run a junk e-mail "rule" or process on messages in an arbitrary folder. I have a folder with over 19000 messages: most but not all of them are spam

It would be nice to have the filter remove some or all of those spam messages, rather than have me go through all of them myself

You can't. It works only on new messages. What you might do is download a
trial version of one of the many antispam programs that work with Outlook
and try it.
