If ANYONE can help me w/this, PLEASE GIVE ME SOME SUGGESTIONS - PLEASE.

THE ERROR MSG. THAT I GET WHEN I TURN ON MY COMPUTER READS AS FOLLOWS:

RUN DLL

C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1\bar\1.bin\M3PLUGIN.DLL

The specified module could not be found.

All I know about this is that I was looking for Mother's Day cards around
Mother's Day and My computer downloaded something called my webspace. I did
not click on it for it to download, it just did it on it's own. I forget the
website but it was a free e-card website that obviously uses this webspace
deal.

Anyway, I have been unsuccessful in ridding my system of this. I'm not sure
if it has to do with Internet Explorer or Windows Vista sp1, which is what I
have so I'm not even sure I'm in the right discussion group but if anyone
knows how to help me, please reply. Thank you for any suggestions.

Sincerely, Joy

Thanks for the reply, I forgot to mention that I do not want this file in my
computer but I am not sure if the missing dll file is important, does that
make sense? I do not want my webspace or anything to do with it in my
system. Any other suggestions?

Did you even read any of what the URL shows that Max posted??

I ran spybot s&d but it did not remove that particular error message box from
popping up. However, Webspace was listed among the trojans along w/other
things I was unaware of so thanks for the heads up.

Any other fixes to remove the error msg. please reply again.

Yes Nonny, I did read the url that Max listed. I was given that reply a few
weeks ago and these things are not listed in my registry but the error
message is there each and every time I load Windows. Crazy, I know but what
I am telling you is exactly what is happening. I had been to Yahoo Answers
weeks and weeks ago and had seen many suggestions there, I am also a member
there. Thanks again for replying.

Have you tried running MSCONFIG to see if any of the programs that are
running at startup are pointing to that dll?

If there is nothing in there, have you tried running REGEDIT and
deleting EVERY reference to that dll?

mywebsearch is in and of itself spyware. so is the mp3plugin.dll.
remove it from control panel>programs.
you can run several different antispyware programs that will remove the
settings as well.
I like spybot search and destroy which has already been suggested.
you can also use msconfig to remove the attempt to access the file at
startup.

I wouldn't be as concerned of the missing dll file as I would where it came
from. The folder, "MYWEBSEARCH" is a nasty piece of spyware. Luckily, it's
very common, so a few of the free AntiSpyware programs should be able to
pick it up:

http://lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php
http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/tools/security_tools/hijackthis

In HijackThis, I'd remove anything coming from the C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1 or
C:\Program Files\My Web Search folders. Just don't get rid of things you're
unsure of (or that look like system files). If you want, run an HJT log and
post it here and I'll look over it for you.

Besides that, I'd suggest going into IE -> Tools -> Options -> Advanced ->
Reset to get rid of any "Browser Helper's" that could have attached to your
browser.

Hi There,

Just wanted to reply and let you know that I have been using Ad-Aware for
years now but it never picked up all of the spyware that I had on my system.
I did use Spybot S&D and it picked up umpteen trojans, spyware, etc., etc.,
that was perfectly sitting on my system and probably has been for quite some
time. Even Norton did not protect me. I need a free virus protection to use
for about a month until I can afford to download a REAL Virus program or buy
one to install. Any suggestions. Thanks for all of the help.

N no single spyware/malware scanner will pickup everything it's
supposed to pickup, so it is necessary to run several.

No anti-virus program will pickup spyware. And the free ones are
probably better than the big-named ones.
