All Programs - > Accessories - > Run

or, just type "run" in the search field and hit enter.

Start Search is your friend.

Type run in Start Search and it will appear in the Start Menu. Right click
on it and choose Place on Quick Launch to have it always available. (Or
just hit Enter and it will run.)

If you want to put it on your Start menu right-click the Start button and
choose Properties. Click the Customize button. Choose Run Command (and
anything else you want) from the list. Click OK twice.

No books on the market yet as far as I know.

There are about 9 books on Vista I have seen listed, and many in the wings
and serveral more I know aboutincluding Alan Simpson's who is a frequent
contributor here, and Ed Bott will be doing XP Inside Out. If you go into a
Borders or Barnes and Noble and search their little machines you'll see
about 9 right now with more if you google.

Right now the two I see in stores available are: (*They are intro books but
many of the features they discuss have never been mentioned by MSFT on their
sites and never mentioned by a Beta tester or any one here--that ought to
tell you something about the information MSFT has conveyed thus far).

Microsoft Windows Vista Unveiled (Paperback)
by Paul McFedries

Microsoft has been eggregiously horrible about documenting features of Vista
in much greater depth than say 3rd grade. Their Product Guide is written on
an idiot level, giving 2 sentences to Win RE.

MSDN and Technet do have several links, but few discussions in depth about
features like Win RE or System File Checker and Windows File Protection in
Vista. I mention that because right now switches like sfc /scannow don't
work in Vista or they will trash your registry. I also see few posts with
any real understanding of Win RE's components not because the posters aren't
bright and experienced, but because they have scant info from MFST.

One thing you can count on almost 8 weeks after Vista has been released as a
so-called CPP, is that MSFT doesn't give a damn about getting substantive
information to the public on Vista. They care a lot about your buying it
and the OEM installations that won't be able to reach Win RE with their
crappy media and restore partitions. I love the way people immediately post
that a recovery disc worked for them because I can find thousands of posts
that they won't on MSFT newsgroups I"ve dragged from the last 6 years.

I am talking about the 300 OEM named partners, not the hardworking
individual system builders who are to be commended throughout this country
and all over the world.
