Everytime I try to open up a program or install something
I am prompted with a "Run as" window. It pops up and
prompts me to enter in a user name and password. I have
tried every password and name that I know, but it still
doesn't work. When I tried to install a program it popped
up I clicked ok and it said that I was denied access. It
even pops up when I turn on the computer. This "Run as"
po-up needs to be fixed, I am getting frusturated, Please
Help!

Kirstin are you a DUNST?
The file is asking for you to 'run'. Are you a little fat
around the mid section?
If so, do as Forrest Gump and start 'RUNNING'!

Check what group your account is a member of: administrator, limited etc.

Software can only be installed by a member of the administrator group. How
it gets installed depends on each program's installer. The installer (setup
program) might install the software for all users; it might install for the
current user only.

Software that is aware of XP's multi-user environment will ask which of
those to do. With software that is not XP aware, it a roll of the dice how
the program will setup.

The programs you are trying to use were setup for another user or user
group. Consequently you are being asked for credentials before it will run
within the account you are currently logged on with. Supply a user
name/password from an account that has access to the software and it will
run.

If it is necessary for software to run for all accounts on that system,
then the administrator needs to take measures to install it in a manner
that will accomplish that goal.

Dear Dick ( I mean anonymous),

Thanks for the helpful tips, maybe next time you'll have
the balls to sign your name.
