run a script when new item is added to public folder

Hi!

I'd like to run a script on any new item that is added to a public folder,
using Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2003.

What I'd like to achieve in the end is something like "Another Approach:
Public Folders" somewhere in the middle of this website:
http://www.winnetmag.com/WindowsScripting/Article/ArticleID/4855/WindowsScripting_4855.html

It uses Exchange 5.5 where there is an "Agents" tab in the public folder
properties.

So I'd like to activate this "Agents" tab again or find some other way to
run a custom script on new items added to a public folder.

is there a way to achieve this?

If you can't see that Agent tab, this is most likely because the Server
Scripting add-in isn't selected:
