Is there any way to create a rule that recognizes e-mails sent from
people IN a distribution list? As opposed to e-mails sent to a
distribution list.

Thanks,

CJ

Yes. Just create the rule under Tools - Rules and Alerts and specify messages
from the DL. It used to work, I assume it still does.

I've never seen this working. I'm told this is because I'm not using an
Outlook server to hold my contacts. I'm on Office 2003, but when I tried
the same thing on an Office 2007 demo system the result was the same.

So this is a POP3/IMAP account and a personally created list of contacts?

It certainly is in my case (POP3), where I cannot get such a rule to be
accepted.

I wrote to Microsoft explaining that this single feature would decide
whether or not I bought Office 2007. As you see, I'm still on 2003.

In fact, as I recall, it was during the exit interview from the process
where I'd tried Office 2007.

I don't want to sound bitter. I never cease to be amazed at how well
Microsoft seems to anticipate very nearly all my wishes. It's almost
spooky, as if they're looking back at me through my display. I think the
little green light conceals a camera. :-)

My local supermarket anticipates my wishes primarily so it can thwart
them. They use my loyalty card record in deciding what to cease stocking
next. If they only knew it, I could single-handedly replace their entire
inventory organisation!
