Hi Brian,

I didn't see any changes in the available gadgets between RC2 and RTM, is
there one in particular that you were looking for?

Which gadgets are included in the RTM version? The same ones as RC2?

Thanks in advance!

Calendar, Clock, Contacts, CPU Meter, Currency, Feed Headlines, Notes,
Picture Puzzle, Slide Show, Stocks, Weather.

No, just checking! Thanks!

Out of interest, if I was to install one of my Beta Vista discs, would I be
able to copy the Beta gadgets that aren't in the RTM release, and then
install them on the RTM version when I get it?

Possibly but there is no guarantee of them functioning on the RTM
build.

As Rick said, I too don't recall any missing so don't know which ones you
would copy. But theoretically they should work fine. Before doing that,
you might try the option of getting additional gadgets, which will take you
to the MS download site for more gadgets that will work with the sidebar.
There are lots of choices out there with more being added all the time.

Any extra gadgets that you may have installed will be in:

C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets

And you can just move them into the same folder in your new OS installation.

ss.

I would add, Brian, that gadgets (like say the much sought after application
launcher) that were removed since beta2 and RC1 were done so for a reason.
Generally they were found to be problematic with later code builds, I doubt
that the circumstances would have changed much. Installing them in RTM may
make the system unstable.

Vista release will most likely have the same gadgets onboard as RC2 did,
however, if you have checked the online available gadgets, they have greatly
increased over the last couple weeks. there are a lot now, sadly, many are
copies of eachother with different art, but you can see that there are more
showing up. This is a good thing, I believe.
Give it till Market release, tehre whould be a boat load of new and neat
gadgets. :-)
