rtf bytes

Does anyone out there know why when I convert a word
document to rtf there is a change in the byte size. If I
have a small file there is not that much difference but on
my larger files there is a huge difference.

Thank you for any help with this.
 
It might help if you asked this in one of the Word newsgroups. This is an
Access database newsgroup.

Offhand, I'd guess it's because Word has a lot of internal information that
it stores with the file. Open one in Notepad for a surprise about what it
actually contains.
