I have a W2K Server with 2 NICs. Outside, connected to Internet & Inside, connected to my LAN. PPTP works great. Problem is, my PPTP clients are connecting over cellular networks and I would like to eliminate as much unnecessary traffic as possible.

I have configured output filters on the Inside adapter to filter UDP port 135 thru UDP port 138 Problem is, when I connect to VPN wirelessly, I don't see any appreciable drop in traffic. The device rx/tx about 15KB per hour. On a Cisco IPSec concentrator connection traffic is much lower, about 2.5KB per hour.

I'm tryin to find any and all ways to decrease PPTP traffic to save battery life on the mobile device

Thanks in advance
John

For filtering the traffic reaching the clients, you need to configure the
filters in the Remote Access Policies.
