Hi to all.

The biggest problem in our IT soft environment is the problem of RRAS. It's
lasted for about 4 months. None of us is able to solve it. And it has totally
annoyed everybody in our staff.

The content is the next: RRAS works for some time and then hangs up. In the
case of its restarting it gets STOPPING state. And there is nothing that can
help besides Server restarting.
Does anybody know the ways of this problem solving.

Your help will be much appreciated.

we need more information to help. what are on the server? any errors on the
event viewer?

Machine has several roles.
The OS version is Win Server 2003 SE.
It is DC and DNS server.
It works as DataBase Server. There is MS SQL Server 2000.
Also MS ISA Server in conjunction with RRAS perform functions of VPN
connection.
It provides one of the network printers.

And there is nothing in the event viewer concerning RRAS.
That is all.

Thank you.

Hi,

When you say "RRAS hangs up", are you telling the client disconnects after
being connected for some time ?
Are you running any service which depends on RRAS ? Try stopping all
dependent services before re-starting RRAS.

It isn't possible to open RRAS management console.
And it disconnects all VPN network interfaces.
Interfaces are of demand-dial type and used to link offices
by VPN. Used VPN protocol is PPTP.
We run ISA Server's services. And it is always possible to restart them.

We are having the same problem. We have a win 2000 Adv. Server running RRAS
Only for VPN access over a dedicated T1 line. It is multi homed with an
Inside and outside interface. It also has it's own dedicated firewall
configured for VPN access. The server will run fine for several weeks or
even months, then without warning or event log listing, it hangs. The entire
server becomes unresponsive. It is currently at SP4 with all patches as of
02022005. We have to reboot the server in order to free it up, and not just
a soft reboot, it must be physically powered off and back on again after a
minute or so. Does anyone have any idea?
