Hello,
I am trying a configuration where I have...
Ethernet NIC with a static IP:
IP: 128.61.67.xxx
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 128.61.67.1
DNS: (same as IP above, DNS requests get redirected to itself)
Wireless 802.11a/b/g WIFI Card with static IP:
IP: 192.168.0.1
Subnet: 255.255.254.0
Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS: 192.168.0.1
I have Windows Server 2003 Enterprise and I am trying to use RRAS to share
the wired ethernet connection using NAT over a private AD-HOC network using
the Wireless LAN adapter and DHCP to assign addresses.
DHCP is currently installed and bound to the wireless card:
Scope Range: 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.1.254
Subnet: 255.255.254.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS: 192.168.0.1
WINS: 192.168.0.1
DHCP scope is active and the DHCP server has been authorized in Active
Directory on the same box.
I also have RRAS set up with the following configuration:
Wizard used and network addess translation selected
IP Routing is enabled
IP Address Assignment is set to DHCP (not static address)
Basic Firewall is disabled
IP Router Manager Enabled for all interfaces
No filters being used
I had also tried the DHCP Relay agent with no success.
I have also tried removing all of the network devices and reinstalling them.
DNS is also installed and all of the adaptors are specified to use it.
This configuration worked for a short period. Somehow I messed something up
horribly and I can't figure out what is wrong.
