Perhaps this not really a RRAS question, but I've been
trawling the forums and as yet haven't found a solution to
my problem.

I'm attempting to configure an ADSL modem on a Win2K
Advanced Server SP4 AD computer.

DHCP, DNS, and other services that RRAS depends on are
running, but when I go to configure the modem through the
RRAS MMC, I get a:

'Server execution failed'

80080005

error message from the Remote Access Connection Manager
wizard that appears.

Does anybody have any idea what is going on?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

And what do you mean by configuring modem via RRAS MMC. Do you mean to say
configuring modem ports in "Ports"?

Can you go to event viewer and see any message logged by RRAS.
Also enable rras logging to maximum information to help us anaylyze this
issue.

OK. The steps that I took:

1. Click the RRAS mmc;
2. Right-click the server icon ---> Configure and Enable
Routing and Remote Access;
3. Routing and Remote Access Server Setup Wizard appears;
4. Select 'Manually configured server';
5. Click 'Finish';
6. Error appears: "Installation of the Routing and Remote
Access service failed because: Server execution failed
(80080005);
