RRAS Clients timing out while authenticating

Clients who VPN into my RRAS box, cannot get
past 'verifying username and password', and the RRAS Event
Viewer on the RRAS server show the following warning:

The user connected to port VPN3-127 has been disconnected
because the authentication process did not complete within
the required amount of time.

HELP

Thanks for the reply. I should have supplied this
initially. The client is win2k, and the server is also. It
is client independent, in so much as the issue is
affecting everyne.
 
Is the server configured to give IP Address from the DHCP? If yes, is the
DHCP server reacheable? Try configuring with static IPs are check.
