I have been using RRAS on a Windows 2000 Server to provide packet filtering
and routing (NAT) of my DSL internet connection. There have been no real
problems with this until my ISP started testing transparent proxy-caching
using a modified version of Squid (http://www.squid-cache.org). Now I am
experiencing severe time-out problems when browsing.
Browsing is fine on the server (by-passing the RRAS routing). Browsing from
the workstations is hopeless. I am currently establishing a VPN connection
to an external server so that I can browse without hitting the proxy. But I
can't keep doing this.
Has anyone run into problems like this before? Can anyone offer any RRAS
configuration suggestions?
Thanks,
Nigel
