Hi,

I need a RPN calculator.

Some time ago I used one that its GUI resembled a hp48, showing 4 lines
of stack, with many functions.

Thanks in advance.

I think that a RPN Calculator should be listed on Pricelessware list,

These two seem to be the top picks in ACF. Are there any *better* apps
out there?

Program: Xcalc
Author: Bernt Ribbum
Install: (n.i.)
Ware: Freeware

Version 2.7 (2005-11-10)

(169 KB)

Program: Excalibur
Author: David Bernazzani
Ware: (Donationware) (free)

v 1.06 (2001-01-10) (ex32_106.zip) (811 KB)

Something different - this app can be used on-line.

I use Emu48 from www.hpcalc.org . Nice program, but:

- You need a ROM for an HP-48 calculator (no problem: available at
www.hpcalc.org)
- You must know how to operate an HP-48 calculator.

I made a pre-configured Emu48 installation ZIP file, and can upload if
somebody gives hosting space.

Note that it is not a "portable application": despite being no-install,
it writes to the C:\WINDOWS\ folder.

Susan,
Check this site out: http://www.hp41.org/Emulation.cfm

I use V41 every day. It has actual photo images of the keys (normal
and while depressed) as well as the rest of the calculator.

It is also programmable just like the HP-41.

The site purports to have a list of all HP virtual calculators
available.

Regards,
Ted

Hello Ted and Renan,

FWIW I don't need an *emulator*. I've used the real thing extensively
since HP calculators first appeared in the 60's. ;)

about that web site. . .

Site registration is required. 30 seconds after I completed the
registration process they spammed me with a sales pitch. :(

A warning about all that would have been nice. . . ;)

I took a look at the apps - found very little information - one web page
(V41 Emulator for Windows release notes) gave me a 404. . .

I cannot find a ROM at that site. There are plenty of ROM updates for
the HP-49 though. Is a ROM update the same as a ROM? Do I have to get
the ROM using a PC connectivity kit with the HP-48?
