RPC shutting down.

I have a Windows 2000 Server, that was working fine. Suddenly, I was
not able to access WEB pages hosted on the Server. It appears that the
RPC task is shutting down. I can do a NET START RPCSS, it says it
starts and then seems to run for a few seconds, but then shuts down.
When that happens there is lots of things I cannot do, like look up
the the property pages of Event's. Does anybody have any ideas why the
RPC task would shutdown and how to fix it?

Install:

As soon as you can!

Also enable Windows XP's built in firewall:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;283673

Then go to WindowsUpdate to pick up the latest updates:
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com

Forget the part about XP's firewall, that's for XP users.

I keep forgetting to take that out in the 2000 groups :-/
