Hi,
I have a Windows 2000 Domain server that is fully service packed. On an XP
machine in the domain I get the following error.
Source: Netlogon
Event ID: 5719
No Domain Controller is available for domain RJA-HOME due to the following:
The RPC server is unavailable. .
Make sure that the computer is connected to the network and try again. If
the problem persists, please contact your domain administrator.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
I have adminpak2003 installed on the XP machine and I cannot sometimes
administer any active directory setting although I can connect using all the
other admin tools.
I think the Netlogon failure coincides with not being able to remotely
administer the server but I am not 100% sure.
The message I get when trying to administer the server goes along the lines
of "Cannot contect to domain server then it tells me to be sure I am running
SP4 on the server or to user the window 2000 admin tools".
I wish I could be clearer but when I started writing this message I was
having the problem but it has cleared itself now.
