Ben

Hello.

I have a problem with windows 2000 professional. I have
a new printer and am trying to install the drivers.
Unfortunately, driver installation fails. I tried
installing from the .inf file and received the
message "RPC server not found". I checked the RPC
program in Services and it is running.
I then tried intalling any printer driver already on my
computer (using "select hardware from list"). All of
these drivers (that I tried) give the same error.
Installation of other drivers (e.g. network cards) works.

I have no idea what the problem is. I don't know whether
anyone else has had this problem before.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Ben.

Run services.msc and check to see if your print spooler is started: It
needs to be to install/uninstall/use printers or printer drivers
