Back in October our organization was hit hard with the
Welchia worm . Since then our Network Admin. has found
other employment and I have been promoted to NA. Trying
to get more familiar with our systems configuration, I am
seeing an enormous amount of warning entries in the
Directory Service log of of exchange "The RPC Server is
unavailable". Below is one of the entries. I haven't had
much luck trying to resolve this replication issue.I am
getting this entry for every child domain it tries
replication with. Am I just missing am obvious prob.?

Could someone throw some advice to me...

P.S. With all the dependencies listed for the RPC
service, How could it not be available.......

There could be several things, but often times rpc errors are the result of
dns (or lack there of) so that would be the first place I'd start. Be sure
that all your domains are resolving dns properly, and how the children are
set up (either they were delegated responsibility for dns in that domain or
everybody is using the parents dns for the enterprise). Verify that the
sites are set up properly if you have multiple with links and proper subnets
associated with the right site/s.

the following should help as well;

Around the Welchia time, we were having DNS issues. I
appreciate your pointing me into this direction...

Thanks
