RPC Protocol Between Intra-site Domain Controllers

Is RPC the only protocol choice for replication between
domain controllers when there are two or more in the same
site (e.g. local subnet)?

We are asking because, it seems, we cannot change several
same site DC's to use the IP protocol. If we try to make
the change inside the Sites and Services MMC they bounce
back to RPC. I suspect it might be an unchangeable default
for high speed network links. Is this the case or are we
experiencing a problem? Is there a handy article on this?

Thanks,

Randy

RPC and IP are exactly the same thing. They're just labeled "RPC" to
indicate intrasite connections and "IP" for intersite connections.
Your machines are doing exactly what they should be doing.
