Hello all

OK, so far so good for me, but my roommate keeps getting
an RPC Error type message and her computer shuts down.
Also, for some bizarre reason, her MSN Messenger
uninstalled itself tonight - she didn't even have her
computer on! Cannot uninstall MSN8 because it says one of
the files is missing (so she can reinstall it). Have
tried System Restore, didn't work. Now this 823980
Security Bulletin/Update....we're both on XP Home (I'm
SP1, don't know if she is - probably, she gets auto
downloaded updates) but we are NOT on a network, use DSL
or Cable - we're still on dial up! No, no firewall for
either of us. HELP!! Does she have this MsBlaster worm
thing? Can that happen on a stand alone computer?
Please post and/or (hopefully) email me with plain
english (not that computer literate) information. Thank
you:)

YES it can happen on a "stand alone" computer. That's what mine is.
You have to install the patch and make sure you're up to date on your
other updates. Also, read the info from the website in my previous
post!
Thanks
