RPC Error when on Internet

Can someone please tell me why i get the error
Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service terminated unexpectedly

Cause - Blaster worm.

Cure - Disconnect the PC from the network/Internet. Download the Blaster
cleanup tool from Microsoft from another computer:

connecting to the Internet/network again:

1. You have not updated Windows. Had you done so, you would have patched
the particular flaw that allowed your computer to be infected.

2. You have no firewall, either hardware or software.

3. You have no antivirus program installed, or if you do, it has not been
updated.

You MUST do all of the above. If you do no, you will be infected again.
Until you begin to practice safe and responsible computer security, you will
not only find your machine getting infected, but you will also be a threat
to everyone else because your machine will be searching for other machines
to infect.

I believe that the welchia and the sasser virus may be
the problem. I think they all cause that to happen.

What Bobby said. Unfortunately, with both Blaster and Sasser still out
there in the wild it is necessary to patch these two holes before you
connect to the Internet for the first time unless you have a hardware or
software firewall in place.

Yes, sasser is the problem the OP has, but the reason his computer was able
to be infected was for the reasons stated. He left his machine wide open to
it, much less that he was unaware of one of the most publicized worms in
history; it was all over...newspapers, TV, radio, magazines,
internet...you'd have to almost be a hermit to not have heard of Sasser and
how to prevent it.

Sorry, but you're wrong. If it were Sasser the shutdown dialog would name
LSASS as the cause, not RPC.

Thanks Richard you have been more than helpful, your
solution has fixed my problem.

Although i must say, I did have Virus software, but
considering it was a new computer and I had to 1. register
windows online, and 2, get latest downloads for virus
checker, unfortunately i was subject to the virus.
