The operating system is Windows XP PRO
My problem is that i can not
start the RPC service. When i right click on the RPC service and click
on
"properties", the window does not open. The service does not start at
booting
and i experience many communication problems. How can i access RPC's
properties and change its state during the booting process

I tried the command prompt but aas soon as I typed the infor for
RPC...system went into a shutdown mode..

Any suggestions.....I need to get to properties to change to LOCAL to
see if my problem can be fixed..

All was well and then I downloaded SP2 and now I can only access my
info via safe mode.....

Thanks

I suggest you repost in WindowsXP.general.

I read that could be a possibilty,so I downloaded the FIX IT tool on
another computer, saved to disc and ran it and the result was no virus
on this machine...

Thanks for the help..

What does repost mean?
Mmh. In your first post you stated clearly "The operating system is
Windows XP PRO". This newsgroup, as its title says, looks at
Windows 2000 issues. You're in the wrong place. "Repost" means
that you go to a Windows XP newsgroup and ask your question
again.
