When i go onto the internet i get the error message about
the RPC and it shuts down after a certain amount of time.
I know for a fact that it isnt the blaster worm because I
had the balster worm back in August and i removed it and
have installed the patches. It has been fine since then
but last night when i was on the internet it came upm
again. I looked at the processes and it wasnt the blaster
worm. Also i am not sure if this is connected but statup
takes a really long time(started before RPC) and many
times i need to do a profile recovery. The day that i got
the RPC message it said when i signed on that windows has
recovered from a serious error. PLease help i am really
confused because i know it isnt the msblast.exe worm!

Craig;
Follow ALL the steps anyways, little of what you say proves Blaster is
not involved:
http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/blaster.htm

Then follow this:
http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/Slowcom.htm
Especially steps #1 (scan for viruses online), #5 and #6.

If the problem still persists, perform a Repair Installation:
Repair Installation:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/tips/xp_repair_install.htm
Windows Updates will need to be reinstalled.
Data should be safe, back-up important data just in case.
Install Service Pack first and by itself.
Then install ALL Critical Updates no more than 4 at a time,

Disconnect the network/modem cable before starting repair and do NOT
reconnect the cable until repair is completed and firewall is
installed/enabled.
