Hi!
I need specified the responsible person in my DNS zone under SOA tab.
I read that i need specify the mailbox of the person responsible for the
domain in the format administrator.fnmco.it instead (e-mail address removed),
is it true?
After I have seen that I can create a RP record under the zone.
In the New Resource Record - Responsible Person (RP) mask I complete the
field in this way:
Host or domain:
Fully qualified domain name (FQDN): fnmco.it
Mailbox of responsible person: administrator.fnmco.it
Optional associated text (TXT) record:
After that I'm returned in the SOA tab and if I browse the RP record I
obtain only fnmco.it instead administrator.fnmco.it
I have tryed nslookup and I obtain the same answer.
May You help me? May You indicate a URL where I try some example and info
abvout the configuration of MB an PR record...
Thank you very much indeed

Here is a quick raw bind example to reference:

; example.com.in-addr.arpa.db
; Written 2004-12-13
;
$TTL 86400
@ IN SOA ns1.example.com.
postmaster.example.com. (
2004121300 ; Serial
10800 ; Refresh 3
hour
1800 ; Retry .5
hour
604800 ; Expire 1
week
86400) ; Minimum 1
day
;
@ IN NS ns1.example.com.
@ IN NS ns2.example.com.
;

Sorry, I don not understand... how can i do using the dns.mmc
Please help me :-)

YES. In place of (e-mail address removed) you use:

administrator.fnmco.it

This is traditional DNS since the @ symbol has special
meaning within a zone file it cannot be use -- so by convention
the FIRST . is replaced with an @ when you use it as an
email address.
